Stephanie Cash joined Hill Country CASA in 2013 as a volunteer advocate, then joined the staff in January 2014 as Case Supervisor for Kendall County before assuming the role of Executive Director in October 2014. In this role, Cash has led Hill Country CASA to be the only one of 72 CASA programs in Texas to provide a volunteer advocate for every child in need in the service area in 2021.
Additionally, she has grown the agency’s budget by 37% during her 8 year tenure; while at the same time increasing the operation’s savings by 40% and the average staff’s salary and benefits by over $14,000.
Prior to moving to the Hill Country, Cash, a qualified DFPS Child Care Center Director, was administrator and director of afterschool and preschool programs in Austin and Bryan-College Station, Texas; and was instructor of record of the Survey of Leadership Theory course at Texas A&M University. In 2011, Cash and her family moved to Kerrville, and she served Zion Lutheran Children’s Center in the role of Executive Director.
Cash was inducted into the Texas CASA Board of Directors in June 2016 and onto the National CASA Rural Leadership Council in 2018. She consults with Texas CASA and CASA programs in Texas and across the country on data management, and is working to build a statewide data reporting system to better share the story of CASA with Texas communities and stakeholders.
Cash was born and raised in Bastrop, Texas. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Development from Texas A&M University in 2005 and Master of Education in Adult Education in 2008.
